Mogan Nature Park

Mogan Lakefront Development and Nature Park project is realized along the southwestern shoreline of the lake, across Gölbaşı district center. Completed within a short six month construction period, the 400.000 m² core development and its surroundings are aimed to address to the entire Ankara metropolitan region. Attracting 20.000 people on weekdays and twice as much on weekends and public holidays, the park infrastructure is designed to respect and protect the delicate ecology of Mogan Lake in spite of its intense daily usage. Reeds covering the southern portion of the park are therefore protected, and offered only limited, indirect access through minor footpaths.

Accessible with public transport and by cars from two gates, one located to the southwest and the other to the north east, the park has one internal road running between them. The road has dispersed parking areas serving the main promenade at different locations. These areas also designate main built up zones and their neighboring activity nodes.

Walkways along the promenade are designed with wood and natural andesite pavers quarried in Ankara. These surfaces connect many different water bound activities to be realized in and around main marina, nautical museum and open air museum, boat shelter, angling jetties, lighthouse, beach, beach volleyball courts, minor islets, piers and lakefront cafés.
